Gatineau, April 21, 2026 — From April 21 to 23, 2026, the SPCA de l’Outaouais is launching an automated call campaign to reach residents whose 2026 pet licenses have not yet been renewed.

As part of this initiative, pet owners may receive an automated call from the SPCA de l’Outaouais. The purpose of this message is to remind them of the importance of renewing their pet’s licence. An option will also be available to receive a clickable link via text message, allowing them to complete the renewal quickly and easily.

This initiative is part of an effort to modernize the pet licence renewal process and encourage residents to opt for online renewal, a simple, fast, and always-available option: https://spcaoutaouais.ca/en/licenses/

The licence plays an essential role in animal safety. If lost, it allows the animal to be quickly identified and its owner located as soon as possible, significantly increasing the chances of a safe return home.

Please note that pet licensing is mandatory under municipal regulations. All owners of dogs, cats, and miniature pigs in Gatineau must ensure their pet has a valid licence.

Beyond the regulatory aspect, the revenue generated by licences directly contributes to funding the services provided by the SPCA de l’Outaouais. These funds help support the care of lost, abandoned, or vulnerable animals, as well as efforts to find them new homes.

The SPCA de l’Outaouais thanks residents for their cooperation and commitment to animal welfare.
