Our valued partners

Every week, we send animals to two PetSmart stores (1851 Merivale Rd. and 255 Kanata Ave. in Ottawa). We also hold occasional adoption events when the shelter is particularly busy! Finally, our PetSmart partners generously donate unsold items, which we make available to our valued customers in our Treasure Trove (door 3).

PetSmart Charities is the leading funder of animal welfare in communities across North America. Since 1994, they have awarded more than $500 million to organizations that help transform the lives of pets and the people who love them!

Since 2017, PetSmart Charities has provided us with over $180,000 in grants for various projects, including: the purchase of a specialized vehicle, the redevelopment of our dog park, animal transportation for various initiatives (including our participation in Chiots Nordiques), emergency aid for the tornado in Mont-Bleu in 2021 and the floods of 2022, as well as for a TNR project in the MRC Pontiac. Thank you for your support!

Since 1968, Royal Canin has been committed to making food the first line of health care for dogs and cats. It’s their way of creating a better world for pets!

The SPCA de l’Outaouais uses and recommends Royal Canin food. We’re proud to be able to count on this invaluable partner, who supports us through annual donations and support at various events!

Royal Canin also donates t-shirts to our volunteers and gives us a discount for each animal adopted at the SPCA de l’Outaouais.

Humane Canada advances animal welfare, with a strong national voice to promote animal welfare interests and concerns to government, policy makers, industry and the public.

The SPCA de l’Outaouais has been a proud member since 2017, giving us access to a network of professionals and experts in the field.

Thanks to Humane Canada, we were selected for an intensive training course on the best animal management practices in North America. The course was delivered by leading experts in the field (UC Davis Shelter Medicine Program).
Our team was honoured to attend four Humane Canada annual conferences.

The Association québécoise des SPA et SPCA (AQSS) brings together a dozen independent organizations that share a wealth of expertise in the field of animal protection, control and welfare. Their clear and shared desire is to join forces to advance their respective missions.

The SPCA de l’Outaouais is proud to be a founding member of the AQSS.

The AQSS provides an opportunity for key players in the field of animal welfare in Quebec to reflect and exchange views on important issues. In particular, we were able to express our views on provincial regulations governing the management of potentially dangerous dogs.

The AQSS also enables the exchange of expertise for negotiating agent contracts via MAPAQ.

Freebees is a monetary rewards platform that transforms the consumer shopping experience by offering money. You earn virtual money every time you visit the SPCA de l’Outaouais, and you can spend it whenever you like!

Freebees is a local partner that has recognized the SPCA de l’Outaouais as an important destination for animal lovers. We greatly appreciate their support, which helps to spread the word about our store and our services within their well-established network!

Algonquin College is a post-secondary institution established in 1967. Their two-year Animal Health Technician diploma program sets the stage for entry into the veterinary profession by providing an authentic learning experience alongside highly skilled professionals in their on-campus veterinary medical facility and partner facilities within the local community!

Since 2007, Algonquin College has been helping the SPCA de l’Outaouais by sterilizing some of the animals entrusted to our care, and providing dental care to boarders in need. These animals are then much more likely to be adopted! It also happens that some students fall in love and adopt one of our boarders.
