Desired profile:

• Person available full-time or with very flexible hours.
• Experience caring for newborn kittens (an asset, but training available).
• Ability to perform frequent formula feedings.
• Comfortable with basic medical care and frequent veterinary follow-ups.

Care required:

• Bottle or syringe feeding (depending on the kitten’s needs).
• Stimulation to urinate and defecate after each meal.
• Administration of medical treatments if prescribed.
• Transportation for multiple veterinary follow-ups.

Minimum foster period:

• 1 month minimum, until the kitten is weaned and stable.

Equipment provided if necessary:

• Formula, syringes/bottles, heating blankets, carrier, etc.

Desired profile :

• Individual or family with time and space to foster a dog, sometimes for extended stays.
• Must be able to travel for veterinary appointments or to meet potential adopters.
• Experience with dogs (behavior, care, training) is an asset.

Responsibilities:

• Provide a safe, stable, and loving environment.
• Provide daily care: feeding, walking, play, hygiene.
• Observe and report any changes in behavior or health.
• Participate in veterinary follow-ups.

Duration of foster care:

• Often longer, depending on the dog’s profile (rehabilitation, convalescence, waiting for adoption).

• Food, leash, collar, toys, medication (if necessary), etc.

• Experience with fearful or recovering cats is an asset.

• May require temporary force-feeding or close monitoring of food intake.
• Needs a safe space to regain confidence.

Responsibilities:

• Provide a calm, safe, and reassuring space.
• Gently encourage feeding and monitor health.
• Provide basic care if necessary.
• Communicate regularly with the follow-up team.

Length of stay:

• Generally shorter, until the cat stabilizes and regains confidence.

Equipment provided if necessary:

• Dry food, force-feeding equipment (if necessary), toys, etc.

• Ability to administer oral medication, eye drops, topical treatments (on the skin), or willing to learn with guidance from the veterinary team.
• Available to take the cat to medical appointments if necessary.

• Provide a calm and safe environment to promote healing.

Responsibilities:

• Provide a safe, clean, and quiet environment.
• Weigh the kittens to ensure they are gaining weight.
• Observe the behavior of the mother and her kittens (feeding, cleanliness, development).
• Report any changes or concerns to the monitoring team.

Duration of foster care:

• Longer stay, usually 6 to 8 weeks, until the kittens are weaned.

• Kitten scale, food, blankets, etc.
