Hi there, I’m Praline! 🐾
I was found as a stray, and I’m a large guard dog—presumably a mix of German Shepherd, Rottweiler, or Montagne des Pyrénées. I’m a very energetic and enthusiastic dog, with a strong desire to be active, learn, and share my daily life with my humans!
I’m looking for a family with experience with active, large dogs—ideally one used to working with a dog that needs to learn to better manage her energy. I’m not compatible with children 12 years old and younger, as my enthusiasm might accidentally knock them over.
I haven’t yet been tested with other dogs or cats. A preliminary meeting is required if I’m to live with another dog; close supervision will be important at first.
I need a large fenced yard and/or access to open spaces. A house in the countryside or on a farm would suit me well. I’m looking for a family that’s home most of the time and truly wants to include me in their activities.
Hiking, long walks, and dog sports could be great ways to channel my energy! 🌲🏃 I also need mental stimulation, food-based plays, and appropriate chew toys to help me burn off energy and relax.
My little challenge? I pull very hard on the leash and sometimes need help calming down when my surroundings get stressful. Dog training classes will be a great way for me to continue learning—especially since I’m very food-motivated and already know “sit,” “down,” and “shake.”
