Clémentine

Hi there, I’m Clémentine! 🐾

I arrived at the SPCA as part of a transfer from the Lévis SPCA. I’m a Labrador mix who’s full of energy, sensitive, and still a little nervous in unfamiliar environments.

I’m looking for a family with experience with young, energetic, and nervous dogs who can guide me with patience and consistency. I’m not a good fit for children 12 and under, because when I get excited, I might jump up and try to grab the leash or their hands. But with adults who take the time to get to know me, I become much sweeter and more affectionate!

I really like other dogs and even want to play with them! A preliminary meet-and-greet will be necessary, but a canine companion my size and with my energy level could really be a great friend for me. 🐶 I haven’t been tested with cats yet.

I’d be happiest in a home with a fenced-in yard, in a quiet environment with little noise, few visitors, and minimal comings and goings. I need a family that’s there for me—one that will give me time to adjust and provide a predictable routine.

When I feel confident, I love running, playing in the yard, and swimming! 💦 Enrichment toys, chew toys, and activities with my family will also help me burn off energy and relax.

My little challenge? New environments can make me nervous and hesitant. I still need to work on my manners, walking on a leash, and staying calm when I’m excited. Obedience and socialization classes will be good tools for me.

I might seem reserved at first, but give me time to get to know you: with a calm, patient, and committed family, I can become a wonderful companion. 🏡
