Hi there, I’m Diablo! 🐾
I was surrendered to the shelter after my owner passed away. I’m a beautiful Doberman—a large breed—looking for a family ready to take good care of me.
I’m a sociable, affectionate dog who’s very happy to see people! I love to cuddle, get attention, and I’m not wary of new people. However, I can get excited quickly, so I need a family who can help me calm down.
I’m looking for a family with experience with large breeds or dogs with a guarding instinct, and who is comfortable with dog training. I get along with other dogs, but living with another dog isn’t recommended at this time. I haven’t been tested with cats. I’m not suitable for young children, as my large size and high energy levels can make interactions less safe.
A house with a large fenced yard and access to open spaces would suit me much better than an apartment or condo. I need a family that’s there for me and a routine that will allow me to gradually get used to indoor life.
I have a lot of energy to burn! 🏃♂️ I’d love to go on long walks, hikes, and activities that challenge both my body and my mind. Chewing toys and enrichment plays are also things that help me stay happy and content. 🌲
I still have a few small challenges to work on, including pulling on the leash, jumping, vocalizing when I’m excited, and nipping at hands or the leash. The good news? I already know several commands and am easily redirected.
With an active, experienced family ready to continue my training, I can become a wonderful companion. If you’re looking for a big, affectionate dog who loves being close to his humans, maybe our story starts here. ❤️
