Hi there, I’m Winston! 🐾

I was found wandering and am probably a shepherd mix. I’m a calm, laid-back, and gentle dog who appreciates the simple things in life. I like to take my time, observe my surroundings, and enjoy human company without needing to be the center of attention.

I might be a good fit for a first-time dog-owning family, provided they’re looking for a quiet companion who respects their pace. Since I’m an older dog who appreciates peace and quiet, I’d be more comfortable in a home with teenagers or adults. A calm environment will help me feel confident and fully enjoy my retirement. 💖

I can be selective around other dogs. I could live with a calm companion, ideally of the opposite sex, but gradual introductions will be important to ensure everyone is comfortable. I haven’t been tested with cats or other animals.

I’m looking for a family that’s present and appreciates peaceful moments. A home with few stairs and a yard where I can go out regularly would be ideal for me. Long absences aren’t my favorite; I like knowing my humans are never far away.

My favorite activities are leisurely walks, relaxing in the yard 🌿, and chewing sessions 🦴. I already know a few commands like “sit,” “down,” and “shake,” which make daily life easier.

My little challenge? I can sometimes be a bit vocal when I’m in my enclosure, but otherwise I’m a very easygoing companion.

I’m up for adoption due to my dental health—my teeth show signs of wear, particularly some of my incisors and canines. I also have a bit of tartar buildup. A veterinary consultation is recommended to assess my dental care needs and help me maintain good oral health. 🦷💙
