When you adopt from the SPCA de l’Outaouais, you’re giving a second chance to a cat, dog or small animal in real need. If you’re looking for a furry friend to give a loving home for life, you’ve come to the right place!
Attention : Adopting a pet is a long-term commitment. If you’re looking for advice on how to choose your new companion, check out our “Choosing the right pet” section!
To meet our boarders, you can make an appointment (priority) or come without an appointment (expect to wait if none of our adoption counselors are available).
Appointments are general, so they are not associated with a specific animal. We do not reserve animals, so the one you are interested in may be adopted before your visit.
Please allow at least 1 hour for a cat or small animal consultation and 1.5 hours for a dog consultation. Please note that for dog adoptions, all members of the household must be present at the meeting, including your other dogs if you have any.
You can leave with your new companion at the end of the consultation!
Monday to Friday: 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday: 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.
Step 1
Take a look at our boarders’ profiles (cats, dogs or small animals).
Step 2
Book a time slot to come meet our residents or drop by the shelter without an appointment during our adoption hours (waiting time possible).
Please note that the animal you are interested in may no longer be available when you visit.
For dog adoptions, all members of the household must be present at the meeting, including your other dogs if you have any.
Step 3
If you’d like to adopt an animal in foster family, please fill out the form on their profile and we’ll contact you to make an appointment. We respond to requests from Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm.
Step 4
One of our consultants will accompany you to meet the animal and provide you with all the information you need. She’ll be able to answer any questions you may have, and discuss the steps you’ll need to take to ensure your pet’s smooth and easy integration into your home!
Step 5
Go home with your new friend for life. Congratulations!
For cats and dogs, adoption fees include spay/neuter surgery, microchipping, basic vaccinations, parasite treatment and a bag of Royal Canin food.
We offer a 10-day health guarantee for minor problems, such as feline respiratory infections.
If you adopt multiple small animals, the adoption fees for the others will be reduced by half.
*”Humanitarian adoption” means that the animal has special health or behavioral needs. In such cases, SPCAO’s 10-day health guarantee does not apply.
Please contact us at info@spcaoutaouais.ca or 819 243-2004, option 1.
You can still help our animals – Make a donation now or become a foster family!
