The SPCA de l’Outaouais is looking for a certified animal health technician to join its dynamic team on a full-time basis!

Job Type: Full-time, permanent
Salary: Starting at CA$22.00 per hour
Required Qualifications:
- Hold a college diploma in animal health technology;
- Good physical condition: ability to work standing for long periods and lift heavy loads occasionally;
- Bilingualism (an asset).
Experience:
- As a technician: 1 year (preferred)

Job Description:
- Provide care for injured or sick animals;
- Assess the health of new animals and administer vaccines and parasite treatments;
- Triage animals requiring a veterinary examination;
- Assist the veterinarian with examinations and surgeries;
- Monitor animals under anesthesia and during recovery;
- Advise adopters and foster families on animal health;
- Help educate the public on shelter animal care;
- Keep the work environment clean at all times.
Job Specifications:
- No evening shifts;
- Alternating weekends (approximately 1 out of 5);
- Numerous flexible family leave days in addition to regular time off
