Hi, I’m Rocket! 🚀

I’m a big, energetic dog who was found wandering before arriving at the shelter. Since then, everyone here has fallen in love with me—I’m a real ray of sunshine! I love people and I’m always up for new adventures, especially if they involve running, exploring, and using my beautiful brain! 🌲🐕

I’m one of the more “primitive” types of dogs, so I have a lot of energy and strong instincts. I need an experienced family, ideally someone who has already had dogs with strong, active temperaments. I need challenges, structure, and a caring presence to help me channel all that intensity!

I am very sociable with adults, but I could not live with other dogs, cats, or small animals (I have a strong predatory instinct). Since I protect my resources, I am looking for a home without children—management and safety are super important to me.
I still have a few behaviors to work on: I pull hard on the leash, I may nip when I get too excited, and I react to other dogs. A dog behavior professional would be a great ally to help me progress, especially with desensitization and handling management (I don’t really like having my ears or rear end touched).

I dream of a large fenced-in yard or, even better, a field in the countryside where I can run freely for several hours a day. 🏡 An active, patient family that is committed to my training will make me an exceptional dog!
