Hi there, I’m Orion! 🐾

I was found as a stray, and I’m a Doberman. I’m a big, sensitive boy—I tend to be a bit reserved in new situations, but I really enjoy being around people once I’ve learned to trust them. When I feel comfortable, I love to cuddle up for some cuddles. 💛

I’m looking for a family that’s familiar with nervous dogs and guard dogs, and who’s comfortable with training and establishing a routine. I’m recommended for a home without children, since I need a calm and predictable environment to build trust. Visitors will also need to be introduced gradually.

To live with another dog, a meet-and-greet will be necessary. I can be selective with certain dogs, even though I show interest in calm dogs at the shelter. My compatibility with cats has not been tested.

A home with a fenced yard and access to open spaces would be ideal for me. I’m not suited for apartment or condo living. I’ll also need my family to be home most of the time to help me adjust to my new environment.

I have lots of energy to burn and I love exploring with my nose! 🌲 Long walks, hikes, dog activities, and enrichment plays will be great ways to help me feel good. 🦴

I still have a few small challenges to work on, including walking on a leash and building my confidence around new people and new environments. With time, a stable routine, and the right guidance, I’ll be able to keep making progress.
