Hi, my name is Nova! ✨🐕

I was found as a stray and we are still getting to know each other at the shelter, but one thing is certain: I am a dog who is sociable with humans, intense, passionate, and ready to invest myself fully in a relationship with a family that will meet my great needs. My breed mix is unidentified, but my energy level and athletic temperament speak for themselves!

I am looking for a family with previous experience, ideally accustomed to very active or adolescent dogs, who loves to be active and plans to devote time each day to my education, training, and activities. When it comes to children, we recommend an adult-only home, because when I play, I can bite, jump, and pull on clothes very roughly, which can unfortunately cause bruises without meaning to.

I will need to be the only dog in the house: I am very reactive towards other dogs at the moment and I bark, charge, jump, growl, and bare my teeth when I see them, whether in front of my enclosure or on a leash walk. I have not been tested with cats and other animals, but a cat-free home would be highly preferable.

In terms of environment, I need space! Apartments or condos are not suitable for me at all. A large fenced yard is highly recommended, ideally with access to wide open spaces where I can run, explore, and expend my energy 🌲🏃‍♀️. I need three or more hours of exercise per day, combining long hikes, running, dog sports, intensive mental stimulation, and lots of chewing to channel my boundless energy.

I still need to learn basic training, housebreaking, and good leash manners, and the help of a professional dog trainer is highly recommended to help me progress. The good news is that I am very easy to handle for grooming, which will greatly facilitate my follow-up and learning.

When I don’t get enough exercise, I become overexcited: uncontrollable zoomies, barking, intense chewing on hands and clothes, and playful biting that can leave small bruises or even tear clothes. When we go out and play, I get so excited that I lose control and grab arms and coats without meaning to—just because I’m playing too hard.

Despite these challenges, I am an affectionate dog with humans, committed and full of potential. With a patient, structured, and very invested family, I can learn to better manage my emotions, channel my energy, and become an extraordinary companion for sporting adventures, endless hikes, and an active life by your side 💛🐾.
