Hi, my name is Fougue! 🌿

I was rescued outdoors and have had little contact with humans, so everything at the shelter seems very overwhelming to me… When I’m stressed, my reaction is mostly to run away and keep my distance 🐾. I’m an independent kitten who prefers to observe from a distance rather than seek contact, and I could live with other calm cats who respect my space.

My progress will depend a lot on my environment, my stress level, the resources available, and, above all, respect for my pace and my limits. Initially, I will need an isolated room or a heated building for a few weeks, with several hiding places, blankets, litter, scratching post, water, and food. Human interaction should be discreet, observing me from a distance and letting me come to them when I am ready.

Over time, if I settle in well, I could gradually be given access to a safe outdoor space such as a farm, a barn, or a large property, with a heated shelter always available. Elevated platforms will help me observe safely, and I will need to be offered food and water every day, even if I hunt. Overly excitable dogs are not for me, and calm, non-intrusive monitoring is preferred.

When approaching me, it must be done slowly, with a soft voice, without ever trying to pick me up or force me out of my hiding place. Treats, food, and toys will be good allies in creating positive associations without direct contact. Some kittens like me become more tolerant over time, while others remain more shy—both paths are completely normal and respected.

Above all, I am looking for an environment where I can live as a free cat, safe, with adequate shelter, food, and stability. With patience and gentleness, I can become a discreet and precious companion on a rural property… perhaps yours? 🌾😺
