Hi, my name is Fluffy 🐾💛

I was surrendered to the shelter and am probably a mix of hunting dog and shepherd—which means I have energy, intelligence, and great potential… but also a sensitive heart!

We recommend a family with experience with fearful dogs, especially those who are afraid of strangers. I am a sociable dog, but very shy. Sudden movements, loud noises, strangers (especially men), and busy environments can make me anxious. With children, a home with kids aged 12 and older is preferable, in order to provide me with a calm environment that respects my pace.

With other dogs, I am selective and very insecure. If I were to live with another dog, I would need a very calm, stable friend who respects my space. Gradual introductions, with breaks and separations, will be essential. Cats and other animals have not been tested.

My ideal family would be active and willing to invest time each day in my education and training. The support of a professional dog trainer is highly recommended to help me gain confidence and work on my fears. A fenced yard is recommended, as well as access to large open spaces. A quiet environment, without too many visitors or comings and goings, will be really important for my well-being.

I have moderate energy and will need 1 to 2 hours of exercise per day. Long walks and hikes in the forest would be perfect for me 🌲. I am generally much more comfortable outdoors than in an enclosure.

In an enclosure, I may show signs of stress: staring, immobility, avoidance, trembling, growling, low posture, and a rigid and tense body. My main triggers are other dogs, strangers, loud noises, confined spaces, and rapid movements. When I’m stressed outdoors, I may run around you—it may seem like play, but it’s actually a way for me to manage my emotions.

I may pull on the leash and jump on people, but these are behaviors that can be worked on with guidance. I show a slight reluctance to be handled: some areas are more sensitive, especially if hands approach too quickly. You will need to let me come to you and respect my pace.

Despite my fears, I am not an aggressive dog. I am a sensitive dog who needs security, stability, and gentleness. Once I feel confident, I show my affectionate and endearing nature 💕.

If you have a calm home, patience, and the desire to help an intelligent and energetic dog become more confident, I could become an extraordinary companion for great adventures in nature… and a deeply loyal soul by your side 🐶✨.
