Hi, my name is Banjo! 🐶🎵

My former family surrendered me to the shelter for personal reasons, and now I’m ready to find a new home filled with love and adventure. 💛

We think I might be a mix of Boxer and Labrador, but one thing is certain: I’m bursting with energy! I’m an intense, enthusiastic canine teenager who’s always ready to move. I could be suitable for a first-time adoption, provided my future family is prepared to invest seriously in dog training classes and my daily guidance. 🧠🐾

When it comes to children, I would be better suited to a home with kids aged 6 and up, as I jump, bump into people, and may nip when I get too excited. Barriers and supervision will be important at first. I could possibly live with another dog, ideally of the opposite sex, with gradual introductions and lots of supervision. We don’t yet know how I would react to cats and other animals.

I am looking for an active family who is willing to go out often, play for long periods of time, and keep me physically and mentally stimulated. An apartment is not for me: I can be very vocal when I am frustrated, and a large fenced-in yard would be ideal. I need at least three hours of exercise per day, including long walks, runs, dog sports, games, and mental stimulation. And yes… I love to chew! 😄🦴

I’m easy to handle, although I can get very excited when I get excited. I still have a lot to learn: walking on a leash, recall, basic commands, and house training are all part of my program. I pull on the leash, jump, nibble, have impressive zoomies, and bark loudly when I don’t get what I want… self-control will be a big thing to work on with me.

In my enclosure, I can react when dogs or people walk by: I bark, jump, sometimes tense up, and have trouble calming down. It’s moderate in intensity and is one of the things we can improve with time and guidance.

Despite all that, I’m very curious and love to sniff everywhere, have my back scratched, and spend time with humans. With a committed, athletic, and patient family, I could become an incredible companion for all kinds of adventures. 🎒🌲
