Hi there, I’m Dania! 🐾

I was brought to the shelter after my owner passed away. I’m a small, miniature terrier-type dog.

I’m an elderly, very sensitive little lady. New environments and people I don’t know can make me nervous, but once we’re outside, I become much more relaxed and love to walk quietly alongside my human. 🌿

I’m looking for a family that’s familiar with elderly, sensitive dogs, or one that’s willing to go at my pace and give me time to build trust. A home with adults only would be ideal, though I can also live with school-aged children who are calm and respectful of my need for space.

I haven’t been tested for compatibility with other dogs, and I can be very fearful around other dogs. If I share my home with a dog, he or she will need to be calm and ideally older, and we’ll need to meet beforehand. I haven’t been tested with cats.

I’d thrive in a quiet environment with minimal comings and goings and little noise. Easy access to the outdoors would be a big plus for me. Long absences can be difficult, so I’d like a family that’s home most of the time and can provide me with a reassuring routine.

I don’t need a lot of activity: short, leisurely walks in the park, a few plays indoors or in the yard, and above all, a gentle and predictable presence suit me very well. 🐶

My main little challenge will be learning to feel confident in new situations and around strangers. With time, patience, and plenty of respect for my pace, I’ll gradually be able to show more of my personality.

I’m up for humanitarian adoption due to specific veterinary needs, including a grade 2–3 dislocation of my left patella and a grade 1 dislocation of my right patella. A veterinary consultation will also be recommended to establish a dental care plan tailored to my needs. ❤️‍🩹

If you’re looking for a quiet little companion and want to offer her a safe environment where she can finally find her footing, I’d love to meet you. Maybe my new beginning starts with you? 🏡

*“Humanitarian adoption” means that the animal has special health or behavioral needs. Exceptionally, a $100 discount on the adoption fee for these dogs is available through August 31 to help them find a family. In such cases, the 10-day health guarantee offered by the SPCAO does not apply.
