Hi there, I’m Atlas! 🐾

I was found wandering, and I’m probably a Samoyed mix. With my big smile and my love for people, I’m often described as a real big teddy bear!

I’m a sociable dog who loves getting attention. I love snuggling up to people, being petted, and spending time with them. Curious and enthusiastic, I love exploring my surroundings while still being a pleasure to be around.

I’m looking for a family that ideally has experience with primitive-type dogs or independent breeds. I could live with school-aged children or older, since my large size might unintentionally bump into younger children when I’m excited.

As for other dogs, I haven’t been officially tested, but I was found with another dog and don’t show any particular interest in the dogs I encounter at the shelter. A preliminary meeting will be important, however. I haven’t yet been tested with cats or other animals.

I’d need a home with a fenced yard or access to open spaces. Apartment living wouldn’t suit me very well, since I can be quite vocal when something catches my attention.

I love walks, hikes, puzzle games, activities that stimulate my brain, and spending time exploring the world by your side. 🌲🦴 My happiness comes as much from being active as from spending quality time with my family.

My little challenge? I can sometimes bark and pull on the leash when I’m eager to say hello to someone. With consistency and guidance, these behaviors can be worked on.
