Hi there, I’m Cannelle! 🐾

I was surrendered to the shelter due to a separation and a lack of time, and I’m a Labrador mix.

I’m a sensitive dog who gets very stressed in new environments, with a lot of pent-up energy that needs to be channeled. I can be affectionate and seek out contact, but I also have a hard time settling down when there’s too much going on around me.

I’m looking for a family with experience with active, sensitive dogs who can provide me with a stable and reassuring home. A home without young children is preferable, as my energy level and stress could be difficult for little ones to handle. Calm teenagers or adults would be a better fit for me.

I can live with other dogs depending on how we get along, but I’m more comfortable in a structured environment where introductions are made gradually and gently. I haven’t been tested with cats or other animals.

I need a home with outdoor access, in a quiet neighborhood where comings and goings are limited. Long absences can make me anxious; I need human presence and consistency to feel safe.

I love going outside—those moments when I can explore freely and use my sense of smell 🏃🌿. Food really helps me connect and learn, especially when the environment is calm and predictable.

I have a few challenges to work on, like pulling on the leash and learning to relax in new situations. It’s a bit of a challenge for me, but with patience and support, I can make progress.

I’m up for adoption as a senior dog, which means I need a family willing to offer me comfort, kindness, and appropriate veterinary care to help me navigate this stage of my life with peace of mind.
