Pancake

Hi, my name is Pancake! 🥞🐶

I’m a mix of bulldog/mastiff and terrier, a combination that makes me strong, enthusiastic, and very lovable. People describe me as a real sweetheart: I love being with humans, and just being in your presence makes me happy 💛.

I would be suitable for a first-time family, as long as they are willing to invest time in my education and training, and take classes if necessary to help me become the best companion possible. With children, we recommend a home with kids aged 6 and up, as I am very strong and when I get too excited, I may pull, jump, or bump into them unintentionally.

I could possibly live with another dog, ideally of the opposite sex, although I can be selective with some of my fellow dogs. Cats and other animals have not yet been tested.

In terms of my environment, apartments or condos are not ideal for me: I am quite vocal and bark a lot when I am bored or not getting enough attention. A fenced-in yard is preferable, and a large yard or access to wide open spaces would be even better so that I can get the exercise I need 🌳.

I have moderate energy and need about an hour of exercise a day, with long walks, hikes, playing in the yard or indoors, lots of chewing… and most importantly, time with my humans, because that’s what makes me happiest!

I still need to learn the basics of training, especially walking on a leash (I pull hard!), and general good manners. The good news is that I’m very easy to handle when it comes to grooming, which will make learning easier.

I get a little bored at the shelter, so I bark to get attention… but that’s mostly because I want so badly to share my joy of life with a family of my own. If you’re looking for an affectionate, strong, moderately active dog who simply dreams of being surrounded by his humans, I could be your perfect Pancake 🐾💛.
