Hi, I’m Porter! 🐾

I’m a young, affectionate, intelligent, and energetic dog! I was found wandering the streets, but despite this somewhat uncertain start in life, I’ve remained cheerful, sociable, and always ready for adventure. With my little shepherd side, I am lively, curious, and I like to have a role in my daily life—whether it’s playing, exploring, or learning new things!

I could be a good fit for a first-time adopter if you are willing to learn about canine needs and behaviors. Previous experience with active dogs, especially guard or shepherd types, would be a great asset. When it comes to children, I would be best suited to a family with kids aged 12 and up, or experienced parents who are able to manage interactions between a large dog and younger children.

I get along well with other dogs, especially those of the opposite sex, provided that introductions are gradual and well supervised. I have not yet been tested with cats. I am an energetic dog, so a house with a large fenced yard, ideally in the country or in a quiet area, would be perfect for me.

I need about 1 to 2 hours of exercise per day—walks, hikes, games, or even sports activities! I also love chewing sessions and mental stimulation. Since I pull a little on the leash and sometimes jump on people, continuing my training will be important. A professional dog trainer can greatly help you channel all my wonderful energy!
