{"id":45468,"date":"2026-07-14T10:30:12","date_gmt":"2026-07-14T14:30:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/spcaoutaouais.ca\/projet452-un-defi-de-452-kilometres-pour-moderniser-les-enclos-des-chiens-de-la-spca-de-loutaouais\/"},"modified":"2026-07-15T10:40:45","modified_gmt":"2026-07-15T14:40:45","slug":"projet452","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/spcaoutaouais.ca\/en\/projet452\/","title":{"rendered":"PROJET452: A 452-kilometer challenge to modernize the dog kennels at the SPCA de l&#8217;Outaouais"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The SPCA de l&#8217;Outaouais is proud to partner with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.projet452.ca\/en\/accueil-english\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">PROJET452<\/a>, an initiative led by Justin Bois, which aims to raise <b>$100,000<\/b> to modernize the dog kennels at our shelter.<\/p>\n<p>On September 5, Justin will take on an extraordinary athletic challenge: completing a solo Double Ironman, for a total of <b>452 kilometers in less than 36 hours<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>His challenge will include:<br \/>\n\ud83c\udf0a 7.6 km of swimming<br \/>\n\ud83d\udeb4 360 km of cycling<br \/>\n\ud83c\udfc3 84.4 km of running<\/p>\n<p>Behind this physical feat lies a very concrete mission: to help improve the facilities that welcome hundreds of dogs in need each year.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Je vais tenter l&#039;impossible\" width=\"750\" height=\"422\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/fjEhaXzXEjI?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>Facilities in need of modernization to better meet the dogs\u2019 needs<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Like many shelters, the SPCA de l&#8217;Outaouais takes in animals every day that require care, support, and an environment suited to their needs. As needs evolve and pressure on shelter services increases, certain facilities now require modernization.<\/p>\n<p>Modernizing the kennels will allow us to provide spaces better suited to the dogs\u2019 needs, enhance their comfort during their stay at the shelter, and support our team\u2019s daily work.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThis project represents a wonderful opportunity to turn a athletic challenge into concrete action for the animals in our community. We are deeply grateful to Justin and everyone who is getting involved to make a difference,\u201d says the SPCA de l&#8217;Outaouais team.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>A Collective Challenge for a Vital Cause<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>PROJET452 invites businesses and citizens to join the movement.<\/p>\n<p>Businesses can participate through various partnership packages, based on a financial commitment per kilometer covered during the challenge.
