Fluency in spoken French is required for this position.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>About the Position<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As part of a nonprofit organization dedicated to animal welfare and at the heart of a vital community mission, the veterinarian will join a passionate team of veterinarians and animal health technicians (AHTs).<\/p>\n<p>The position offers stimulating challenges unique to a shelter environment and actively contributes to the ongoing evolution of practices and standards of care.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Conduct medical examinations and provide follow-up care for sheltered animals.<\/li>\n<li>Perform high-volume spay\/neuter procedures, including those carried out as part of the Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program.<\/li>\n<li>Perform various surgical procedures (e.g., amputations, enucleations).<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate closely with the team to establish and adjust treatment plans following examinations and follow-ups.<\/li>\n<li>Provide tailored recommendations to adopters.<\/li>\n<li>Opportunity to be involved in cases under the jurisdiction of the MAPAQ.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Desired Profile<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Excellent ability to work in a team and collaborate across disciplines.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work effectively under pressure.<\/li>\n<li>Strong ability to adapt to the realities of a shelter environment.<\/li>\n<li>Autonomy, initiative, and a sense of responsibility.<\/li>\n<li>Good time management and prioritization skills.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine.<\/li>\n<li>Member in good standing of the OMVQ.<\/li>\n<li>Fluency in French.<\/li>\n<li>Bilingualism (a plus).<\/li>\n<li>Experience in shelter medicine and\/or high-volume spay\/neuter programs (a plus).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Benefits<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Opportunities for continuing education.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Applications should be sent to:<\/b> Marika Rondeau, Director of Animal Health | <a href=\"mailto:mrondeau@spcaoutaouais.ca\">mrondeau@spcaoutaouais.ca<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>French is the primary working language at the SPCA de l&#8217;Outaouais.
