Gatineau, June 17, 2025 \u2013 The SPCA de l\u2019Outaouais is proud to announce the signing of a three-year agreement with the MRC de La Vall\u00e9e-de-la-Gatineau for the provision of animal services throughout its territory.<\/p>\n
Thanks to this agreement, residents of the MRC’s municipalities will now benefit from structured, consistent, and equitable service. They will have access to the same animal protection services as those offered elsewhere in the Outaouais, backed by the SPCA de l’Outaouais’s 40 years of expertise in animal welfare.<\/p>\n
Standardizing services will harmonize practices, ensure a rapid and appropriate response to local needs, and better support municipalities in enforcing their regulations.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis agreement demonstrates our collective commitment to providing quality services while addressing the challenges of human-animal coexistence in our region. It is an important step toward a more responsible, safer, and more humane MRC,\u201d said Chantal Lamarche, elected prefect of the MRC de La Vall\u00e9e-de-la-Gatineau.<\/p>\n
A transition phase is already underway to ensure a smooth rollout in all municipalities concerned. To support this expansion, a new resource has been hired specifically to meet the needs of the La Vall\u00e9e-de-la-Gatineau territory.<\/p>\n
“We are very pleased to begin this new agreement with the MRC de la Vall\u00e9e-de-la-Gatineau. By centralizing animal services, we will be able to offer a professional and consistent approach throughout the territory. This is a major step forward in ensuring animal welfare while supporting municipalities in enforcing regulations,” said Charles Tousignant, Director of Patrol and Investigations for the SPCA de l’Outaouais.<\/p>\n
